Use Copilot when the work happens inside Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams and your Microsoft 365 permissions are in good order. Use custom AI when the work runs through your own processes, data, or industry software that Copilot cannot see. Many businesses end up with both; an assessment tells you which pays off first.

Will our company data end up in public AI models?
